Metro53 - LAHORE: A power outage interrupted the recording of a private television programme, Jawab Do with Farrukh Warraich, at the residence of journalist Mona Khan, highlighting persistent electricity supply issues in parts of the city.
According to reports, electricity went out during the recording and was not restored even after a scheduled break. The programme resumed with Ms Khan continuing participation under emergency lighting.
Host Farrukh Warraich remarked on the situation, noting that public criticism over power outages frequently centres on the energy ministry. Participants also referenced Federal Energy Minister Owais Leghari during the discussion.
Retired air marshal Arshad Malik, who was among the guests, said he had been able to avoid load-shedding due to reliance on a private solar power system, but added that such alternatives remained unaffordable for many households.
The incident underscores ongoing challenges related to electricity supply and affordability, as consumers continue to face outages alongside rising energy costs.
