Metro53 - Gujrat: The Punjab Food Authority has intensified its inspection campaign in Gujrat to ensure food quality and public health standards, officials said.
The operations are being carried out under the directives of Deputy Director Rizwan Saeed. According to authorities, a total of 78 inspections were conducted across the district.
During the campaign, 24 improvement notices were issued to food businesses over various violations, while six outlets were fined a مجموعی amount of Rs86,000.
Inspection teams also disposed of 5 kilograms of substandard and prohibited food items to prevent unsafe products from reaching consumers.
Officials of the Punjab Food Authority stated that the provision of safe and quality food remains their top priority, adding that such enforcement actions will continue without interruption. They warned that strict legal action would be taken against those found violating food safety regulations.
