Metro53 - LAHORE (Staff Reporter): Government College University (GCU) Lahore on Thursday held a ceremony to distribute laptops among students under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme.
Mr Fahad Shahbaz, Focal Person for the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, was the chief guest. Staff members and a large gathering of students were also present on the occasion.
During the ceremony, laptops were handed over to selected students to support their academic work and improve access to digital resources.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Shahbaz said the initiative aimed at equipping talented students with the tools needed to meet the demands of a technology-driven environment, adding that digital access had become essential for educational progress.
The university administration said the scheme would help strengthen research capacity and enhance educational competitiveness, and appreciated the government’s focus on youth development.
Students thanked the organisers for providing the laptops and expressed hope that the initiative would support their academic pursuits.
