Metro53 - Swat: A local leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Kabal Sigram area of Swat on Monday, police said.
According to police, unknown armed men opened fire on the party’s local representative, killing him on the spot. The deceased was identified as Haji Sadrey, who was also a former member of a local peace committee.
His cousin, Fareed Khan, who was accompanying him at the time of the incident, sustained injuries in the firing. Both the body and the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
Police officials said the attackers managed to escape after the incident, and a search operation has been launched to trace and arrest them. Further investigation is underway.
