Metro53 - Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Sher Afzal Marwat has announced that he will legally challenge the selection of Sohail Afridi as Chief Minister.
Speaking to media, Marwat said he would contest the nomination in court, alleging poor governance and administrative failure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He claimed that issues in the health sector and alleged irregularities in drug procurement and sales had worsened the situation in the province.
He further stated that he had initially been advised against challenging the decision, but he would proceed regardless, rejecting the earlier suggestion.
Marwat also referred to various court rulings and political developments involving PTI leadership, arguing that certain legal principles prevent individuals facing legal restrictions from issuing administrative directives.
He added that the decision to appoint Sohail Afridi had weakened the party’s internal structure and effectiveness, claiming it had impacted its political strength. He suggested that giving greater authority to senior leadership figures could help stabilise the party’s position.
The remarks come amid ongoing internal political debate within PTI over leadership roles and organisational decisions.
