Metro53 - ISLAMABAD: A formal notification regarding the transfer of judges of the Islamabad High Court has yet to be issued, despite approval by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan, it emerged on Wednesday.
According to a report published in Daily Jang, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani has arrived at the Islamabad High Court and continues to hear cases. The cause list for his court has also been displayed outside the courtroom.
Meanwhile, Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz is also conducting hearings, while the cause list for Justice Babar Sattar has been cancelled.
It is pertinent to mention that a day earlier, the Judicial Commission of Pakistan had, by a majority decision, approved the transfer of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Babar Sattar and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz to three provincial high courts.
However, the commission withdrew the proposal to transfer Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro.
Despite the approval, the official notification required to formalise the transfers has not yet been issued.
