Metro53 - PESHAWAR: Barrister Saif has said that Pakistan needs an alternative and effective leadership capable of addressing national challenges beyond the traditional roles played by the government and opposition.
In a statement, the former information adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government said the country’s political situation had become increasingly complex, while both the ruling coalition and opposition appeared unable to play an effective role in resolving key national issues.
According to Barrister Saif, there is a growing need for fresh thinking and a new political approach to fill the existing leadership vacuum.
He said the country’s challenges could not be resolved through conventional political confrontation alone and stressed that a broader national dialogue was essential.
Emphasising the need for political consensus, Barrister Saif said all political stakeholders would have to sit together to end the prevailing political deadlock.
He added that meaningful progress on major national issues would only be possible if political parties rose above personal and partisan differences and prioritised national interests.
Referring to ongoing efforts aimed at promoting dialogue, he said an event organised by the National Dialogue Committee was being held in Karachi to bring together representatives from political and social circles on a common platform.
He said such forums should focus on public welfare rather than personal or political rivalries in order to find solutions to the country’s ongoing crises.
Barrister Saif further stated that negotiations, reconciliation and political harmony remained the only viable path towards resolving national issues and achieving lasting political stability.
Political observers say recurring tensions in Pakistan’s political landscape highlight the increasing need for sustained institutional and political dialogue across all major stakeholders.
