Metro53 - GUJRAT: A suspect allegedly involved in the killing of Crime Control Department (CCD) official Syed Fayyaz Shah was killed during a police operation in Balochistan, according to law enforcement sources.

Officials said the suspect, identified as Nauman alias Noma Bahlpuriya, had been wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of the CCD official in Jalalpur Jattan around two weeks ago.

Investigators claimed the accused had allegedly threatened the officer several times following the death of one of his close associates in an earlier encounter involving CCD personnel. Police sources said Mr Shah had informed senior officials that criminal elements were targeting him.

According to the investigation, the suspect managed to evade arrest after the killing despite multiple raids, the blocking of his passport and alerts issued at airports across the country.

Police later traced the suspect’s mobile phone location to different areas of Balochistan, where he was reportedly moving frequently to avoid arrest. Officials suspected he was hiding among acquaintances involved in wheat harvesting operations in the province.

A CCD team from Gujrat, assisted by local police in Gwadar, allegedly tracked the suspect to a specific location after his movements remained stationary for several hours.

Police claimed the area was surrounded and the suspect was killed during the operation.

Authorities further alleged that the accused was planning to flee abroad through illegal channels before he was intercepted.

The killing of the suspect was welcomed by some residents in Gujrat, while police officials reiterated that operations against criminals involved in attacks on law enforcement personnel would continue across the province.
