Metro53 - Lahore (Web Desk) — Police have been barred from entering all 43 district and 170 tehsil bar associations across Punjab.
According to private TV channel Express News, the President of the Punjab Bar Council, reacting to the brutal killing of lawyers in Vehari and Jhang, announced that police will not be allowed to enter any bar premises across the province.
He demanded that cases against the suspects be registered under the Lawyers’ Protection Act.
Meanwhile, on the call of the Punjab Bar Council, the strike by lawyers at the district courts continues today. The bar president stated that during the lawyers’ boycott, no court should issue any adverse orders against anyone. He added that a protest meeting will be held at 11:30am to condemn the killing of the lawyers.
