Metro53 - Karachi (Web Desk): The Sindh High Court has dismissed fashion designer Nomi Ansari’s petition seeking the dismissal of a tax fraud case registered against him.
According to details, the court heard the plea filed by Nomi Ansari regarding the tax fraud case. The government lawyer argued that Nomi Ansari and others are accused of underreporting retail sales and committing tax fraud.
The petitioner’s counsel contended that, based on Supreme Court rulings, such a case cannot be registered against his client. He further argued that documents allegedly obtained through an illegal search cannot be used as evidence.
The court remarked that this is not an extraordinary case where an alternative forum should be ignored. Following this observation, the court rejected Nomi Ansari’s request to dismiss the case.
