Metro53 - Lahore (Web Desk): Former actress Sarah Chaudhry, who left the showbiz industry for religious reasons, has revealed that she and her mother faced numerous unethical proposals at the start of her career.
Speaking on a podcast, Sarah stated that harassment is not limited to showbiz, but the industry receives more criticism because the general public assumes that the character of people working in it is weak.
She said that some individuals take advantage of this mindset and make inappropriate requests, due to which the first few months of her career were extremely difficult.
According to Sarah, she always visited sets with her mother, yet it was her mother who suffered the most.
In the beginning, they received such offers that deeply upset her mother — to the point that she broke into tears and advised Sarah to focus on her studies and stay away from that environment.
Sarah added that the remarks made to her mother were so indecent that she does not even consider it appropriate to repeat them.
She shared, indirectly, that she was told if she wanted to progress in showbiz, she would have to make certain “special compromises,” otherwise success would be difficult.
It is noteworthy that Sarah Chaudhry left showbiz in 2010. She is now married, a mother of five children, and actively engaged in religious activities.
