Metro53 - Gujrat: Police have arrested five suspects during an effective operation against illegal weapons in the Karyanwala police station area, recovering five 30-bore unlicensed pistols from their possession.
According to details, acting on the directives of DPO Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq, a district-wide crackdown against illegal arms is ongoing. Under the supervision of DSP Sadar Circle Rai Sarfraz Yousaf, SHO Karyanwala Munir Hussain (SI), along with his police team, set up special checkpoints and hold-up points at various locations.
During checking, police arrested Muhammad Faqiria son of Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Shafiq son of Muhammad Rafiq, Ghulam Abbas son of Muhammad Asghar, Imran alias Mana son of Jaga, and Muhammad Asghar son of Muhammad Nawaz. The suspects belong to different areas but were residing in Karyanwala at the time of arrest.
Separate cases have been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway. A police spokesperson stated that operations against illegal weapons will continue without discrimination to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property.
