Gujrat Police Solve Murder of Rajanpur Youth Within 24 Hours, Two Accused Arrested

Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk): Gujrat police have solved the mystery of the brutal murder of a young man within 24 hours and arrested both accused along with the murder weapon. The operation was carried out by Police Station Industrial Estate Phase Two using modern investigative techniques.

According to details, on December 30, 2025, at around 8:30 pm, Gujrat police received information about the murder of a young man in the nearby village of Datiwal, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Industrial Estate Phase Two. Upon receiving the report, a heavy police contingent immediately reached the crime scene, where evidence was collected with the assistance of the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) and the Crime Scene Unit.

Police said the deceased was identified as Muhammad Nadeem, son of Muhammad Shamla, aged 25 years, a resident of Rajanpur district. He had been living in Datiwal for the past 7 to 8 years and earned his livelihood through daily labor. On the complaint of the victim’s brother, Muhammad Shafiq, a case was promptly registered against the nominated accused, while the body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination.

Initial investigations revealed that the accused had brutally murdered the victim using a sharp-edged weapon and fled the scene. Taking serious notice of the incident, DPO Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq assigned a 24-hour deadline for the arrest of the culprits.

Special police teams were formed under the supervision of SP Investigation Mehr Muhammad Riaz. Under the monitoring of DSP Sadar Circle Rai Sarfraz Yousaf, SHO Police Station Industrial Estate Phase Two Ehsan Latif and other teams set up immediate checkpoints to prevent the suspects from escaping.

Using modern scientific and technical methods, police arrested both accused involved in the murder within a few hours. The arrested suspects were identified as Arman Butt, son of Murtaza, and Asadullah, son of Saifullah, residents of Datiwal. During interrogation, the accused confessed that they had a minor argument with the victim a day earlier. Holding a grudge, they planned the murder, lured him out of his house, and killed him with a spear.

DPO Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq stated that those involved in the murder of the young man would be punished strictly in accordance with the law. Police said further investigation is underway, and other aspects of the case are also being examined.
