Renowned Islamic Scholar Maulana Fazlur Rahim Ashrafi Passes Away in Lahore

Metro53 - Lahore (Web Desk): Maulana Fazlur Rahim Ashrafi, the Mohtamim (administrator) of the renowned religious institution Jamia Ashrafia, has passed away. He had been suffering from prolonged illness. His funeral prayer will be offered today after Zuhr prayers at Jamia Ashrafia, Lahore.

Maulana Fazlur Rahim Ashrafi was the head of Jamia Ashrafia, one of Pakistan’s leading religious and educational institutions. He also served as Chairman of the Quran Board and Patron of Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan. He authored several religious books and held a distinguished position due to his scholarly and educational services.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep grief and sorrow over the passing of Hafiz Fazlur Rahim Ashrafi, stating that he was a great Islamic scholar, eminent Muhaddith, and a prominent figure in the promotion of religious education. The Prime Minister said that the late scholar’s academic and religious services would always be remembered and that the void created by his demise would take a long time to be filled.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also expressed her condolences on the passing of Maulana Fazlur Rahim Ashrafi and extended sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman termed the death of Maulana Fazlur Rahim Ashrafi an irreparable loss for academic and religious circles. They prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and patience for the bereaved family.

Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, Maulana Qari Muhammad Hanif Jalandhari, Maulana Dr Saeed Ahmed Inayatullah, and other religious and scholarly figures also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the passing of Maulana Fazlur Rahim Ashrafi.
