Gujrat Mega Projects to Transform City, Rahman Shaheed Road & Flyovers Near Completion: Ch. Shafay Hussain

Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk) – Provincial Minister for Industry and Trade, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, announced that new mega development projects in Gujrat are set to begin soon, ushering in a new era of growth and prosperity for the city.

He stated that construction work on Rahman Shaheed Road has already started following fund approval from the Punjab government and is expected to be completed within the next two to three months.

To address the city’s traffic challenges, several key projects are underway. The Service Mor Flyover is in its final stages and is expected to be completed by early next month. Funding for the Saman Mor Bridge project will also be approved this year, with construction starting shortly thereafter.

Chaudhry Shafaq Hussain highlighted improvements in gas infrastructure to benefit residents. With joint funding from Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain, a new gas pipeline is being installed from Union Council 3, Muslimabad, Bhattian Graveyard to Iqbal Chowk. Subsequent phases will extend gas supply to Bagh Bawa Muslimabad, Rehmatpura, Noor Pur Sharqi, and Chawa Berry Wala Khoh.

He also revealed that a 2.6 billion PKR mega project has been approved to permanently resolve Gujrat’s long-standing sewerage problems, with construction to begin soon.

The provincial minister emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for corruption in all development projects. He assured that all work will be completed with transparency, consultation, and high standards, with no room for commissions or malpractice. Public service, he said, remains his top priority.
