Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk):Following the directives of the Punjab Government, efforts are being intensified in district Gujrat to strengthen the fire safety system. The district administration has confirmed that a total of 26 new fire hydrants have been installed in various areas to ensure a swift response during any fire emergency and to protect the lives and property of citizens.

These measures have been taken particularly in densely populated and commercial areas to prevent delays in fire brigade operations during emergencies and to minimize potential losses.

New fire hydrants have been installed in Sara-e-Alamgir, Grand City Society, Ghalla Mandi Lalamusa, and Shadiwal Main Bazaar. According to the district administration, 4 fire hydrants have been installed within the limits of Municipal Corporation Gujrat, 1 in Kunjah, 7 in Jalalpur Jattan, 2 in Kharian, 5 in Lalamusa, 1 in Dinga, and 4 in Sara-e-Alamgir.

The administration stated that these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to making public safety a top priority and its determination to ensure prompt control in case of any untoward incident.

In addition to the installation of fire hydrants, the district administration further informed that other essential firefighting equipment is also being arranged, and trained personnel are being prepared to ensure timely and effective action during emergencies. Efforts are underway to implement comprehensive fire safety measures across all major commercial and residential areas of the district to prevent future incidents.

On this occasion, municipal and district officials have appealed to citizens not to place obstructions around fire hydrants and to immediately inform the relevant authorities in case of a fire so that prompt and effective action can be taken. This initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen fire safety infrastructure in district Gujrat and ensure public protection during emergencies.
