Metro53 - Lahore (Web Desk):Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has announced an extension in the timing of Basant celebrations. In her statement, the Chief Minister said that the celebrations have been extended until 5:00 am tomorrow morning.
Maryam Nawaz said she was happy to announce the extension of Basant festivities, calling it a reward for the people of Lahore who celebrated the festival with full discipline and responsibility.
She stated that the citizens of Lahore strictly followed all safety SOPs and urged the public to continue celebrating in a safe manner. She advised people to stay away from electricity wires, secure their rooftops, and follow all safety instructions.
The Chief Minister added, “Let us make this historic Basant joyful, safe, and memorable for everyone.” She said that scenes of celebration, unity, and happiness have returned after 25 years, and grand Basant festivities were observed across Punjab and Pakistan.
It is noteworthy that a three-day Basant Bahar festival is being celebrated in Lahore after a gap of 25 years.
