Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk):Commissioner Gujranwala Division Syed Naveed Haider Shirazi paid a detailed and surprise visit to Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital in Gujrat, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi.
During the visit, the commissioner reviewed medical facilities being provided to patients, cleanliness conditions, and overall administrative affairs of the hospital. The purpose of the visit was to assess the quality of treatment in the government hospital and to ensure the provision of improved healthcare services to the public.
Upon arrival, Medical Superintendent Dr Saud Afzal received the commissioner and deputy commissioner and facilitated a comprehensive inspection of various hospital departments. Emergency services, medical wards, surgical units, laboratories, pharmacies, and other key sections were visited, where officials were briefed on ongoing administrative measures and available facilities.
The commissioner interacted with patients undergoing treatment in different wards and directly inquired about medical care, availability of medicines, and staff behaviour. Patients and their attendants generally expressed satisfaction with the facilities, while a few concerns were highlighted and immediately noted for corrective action.
During the inspection, the commissioner carefully examined cleanliness standards, availability of medicines, attendance of doctors and paramedical staff, duty rosters, and patient-related facilities. He directed hospital management that negligence or lapses in medical care would not be tolerated and that quality and timely treatment for patients must be ensured at all costs.
Expressing satisfaction with the overall arrangements, Syed Naveed Haider Shirazi stated that Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital is a key healthcare institution of Gujrat district, catering daily to a large number of patients. He stressed the effective utilisation of available resources to provide better healthcare facilities and ordered immediate steps wherever improvement was required.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi stated that the district administration is taking serious and practical measures to ensure the provision of quality healthcare services to the public. She added that continuous monitoring would be carried out to further improve the performance of government hospitals.
Medical Superintendent Dr Saud Afzal briefed the commissioner on ongoing reform initiatives, available medical equipment, staffing strength, and facilities being provided to patients. He assured that hospital management is committed to taking all possible steps to further enhance patient care and treatment standards.
