Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk): Under the leadership of Rana Umar Farooq, Gujrat Police have achieved a major success during an ongoing crackdown against criminals and proclaimed offenders. According to police officials, a dangerous and wanted suspect, Mudassar Ali son of Mehdi Khan, has been arrested.
Details reveal that the operation was carried out under the supervision of Shahid Mahmood. SHO Police Station Dinga, Muhammad Aslam, along with his team, conducted the raid. Using professional skills and modern scientific technology, police traced and successfully apprehended the suspect.
Police stated that the arrested accused was wanted in serious criminal cases registered at Police Station Dinga, including murder cases No. 781/24 and 217/25, as well as charges of attempted murder and police encounter. Additionally, the suspect is accused of opening indiscriminate fire on a vehicle along with his accomplices near Miana Chak on March 2, 2025, killing six people and spreading fear and panic in the area.
During the arrest, police also recovered the weapons used in both murder cases from the suspect’s possession, including a Kalashnikov rifle and a 7mm rifle. According to police, the recovered weapons have been sent for forensic examination to further strengthen the evidence.
The DPO Gujrat praised the police team involved in the operation and stated that indiscriminate action against criminal elements will continue across the district. He emphasized that protecting the lives and property of the public is the police’s top priority and that those involved in serious crimes will be brought to justice. Police further stated that investigation is ongoing and raids are being conducted to arrest the suspect’s remaining accomplices.
