Metro53 - Tel Aviv (Web Desk) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that Israel does not seek a prolonged war, but any action against Iran will be swift, targeted, and decisive.
In an interview with an American television channel, Netanyahu argued that had the United States and Israel not acted in time, Iran’s nuclear program would have remained secure, making future action far more difficult. He maintained that preemptive measures were necessary to counter potential threats.
Netanyahu further said that any decision regarding regime change in Iran rests with the Iranian people, but emphasized that Israel will continue to take all necessary steps to ensure its national security. He also acknowledged that for years there had been pressure on Washington to adopt a tougher stance against Iran, adding that former U.S. President Donald Trump ultimately supported Israel’s position on the matter.
Meanwhile, President Trump stated that there would be no need to deploy ground forces in Iran. However, he warned that any killing of American soldiers would trigger a strong response. He also hinted at retaliation over an alleged attack on the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, though American media reported that the embassy was vacant at the time of the reported drone strike.
Rising tensions in the region have sparked concern in diplomatic and military circles, with the international community closely monitoring the evolving situation.
