Metro53 - Lahore (Web Desk) – Security has been tightened across the province on the occasion of the third Friday of Ramadan, and Punjab Police has been placed on high alert.
According to officials, more than 83,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed in different cities of the province to ensure security.
In a statement issued from Lahore, police authorities have been directed to keep a strict watch on terrorists and miscreants and to pay special attention to the movement of suspicious individuals.
Authorities have also ordered that security be further strengthened at mosques, places of worship, police posts, consulates, and other sensitive locations to prevent any untoward incident.
The Inspector General of Punjab has further instructed that effective monitoring of mosques, places of worship, and important locations be ensured through CCTV cameras. Police personnel deployed at inter-provincial checkpoints have also been directed to remain fully vigilant.
