Metro53 - Hollywood (Web Desk) – Renowned American pop star Britney Spears has been arrested on charges of driving under the influence.
According to foreign media reports, the 44-year-old singer was taken into custody in the U.S. state of California for allegedly driving after consuming alcohol and drugs.
A spokesperson for Britney Spears confirmed the incident and described it as unfortunate.
According to local highway police, Spears was driving at high speed and in a dangerous manner. She was released shortly after her arrest, however she has been summoned to appear in court on May 4.
