Metro53 - Paris (Web Desk) – In the French municipal elections, one Pakistan-origin mayor and seven councillors have been elected, marking a significant achievement for the community.

According to details, a total of 16 Pakistani-origin candidates contested the local elections on tickets of different political parties. Out of them, one candidate secured victory as mayor, while seven others were elected as councillors across four different municipal committees.

In the city of Créteil, often referred to as “Mini Pakistan,” Omar Ayub was elected as mayor, along with three Pakistani-origin councillors.

Meanwhile, Chaudhry Ahmed Khan Jilani was elected in Villerlebel, Naeem Muhammad Chaudhry in Drancy, and Haroon Khan was elected as councillor for the third time in La Courneuve. Additionally, Asad was elected as councillor in Arnouville.

This development highlights the growing political participation of overseas Pakistanis in France. The success of these candidates reflects how Pakistanis abroad are achieving recognition through their hard work, competence, and dedication in international political landscapes.
