Metro53 - Washington (Web Desk) — The White House has confirmed that U.S. President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir.

According to Western news agencies, when asked about a potential visit by Whitcoff and Jared Kushner to Islamabad, White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt described the discussions as sensitive diplomatic talks and emphasized that the U.S. would not conduct negotiations through the media.

She added that any speculation about meetings should not be considered final until an official announcement is made by the White House.

U.S. media reports indicate that America has conveyed 15 points to Iran via Pakistan. Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, emphasizing the importance of negotiations and diplomacy for peace, security, and stability.

The Foreign Office has confirmed that Pakistan is prepared to host negotiations if both parties agree.

Earlier, the British newspaper Financial Times reported that Field Marshal Asim Munir spoke with President Trump on Sunday. The report highlighted that Pakistan is positioning itself as a key mediator to end potential conflict with Iran, facilitating back-channel communications between senior Pakistani officials, Iranian authorities, Whitcoff, and Jared Kushner.
