Metro53 - GUJRAT: The District Council has launched a tree plantation campaign aimed at making the GT Road greener and more environmentally friendly, officials said on Wednesday.
Chief Officer Syed Faraz Mehdi has initiated practical steps to promote a clean and green environment across the city. Under the campaign, plantation activities have started from Bole Chowk to Dewana Mandi along the busy GT Road.
According to details, the District Council team is not only planting new saplings in مختلف areas but is also ensuring the maintenance of previously planted trees. Workers were seen watering plants at Bole Chowk, while fresh plantation activities continued in Dewana Mandi.
The chief officer has directed the concerned staff to ensure proper care and monitoring of plants alongside plantation efforts to achieve long-term environmental sustainability.
He added that providing a clean and green environment remains a top priority of the district administration, and such initiatives will continue without interruption.
