Metro53 - GUJRAT (Web Desk): A large-scale cleanliness campaign has been launched across Gujrat, with authorities claiming visible improvements in sanitation under the “Suthra Gujrat” initiative.
The drive is being carried out by Gujrat Waste Management Company in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to ensure a cleaner urban environment.
Officials said special focus has been placed on mosques, graveyards, Eidgahs, and major roads, including chowks and intersections, where sanitation teams have been deployed to maintain cleanliness during and after Eidul Fitr.
The company has reportedly mobilised additional workforce and machinery to ensure timely waste collection and disposal, aiming to improve overall.
Authorities claim that the is witnessing a noticeable change, with key public places being cleaned and maintained more efficiently.
Residents, however, have urged officials to sustain the efforts beyond seasonal campaigns and ensure long-term improvements in waste management across all areas of the city.
