Metro53 - GUJRANWALA (Web Desk): In a major development in the education sector, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Gujranwala has completed Punjab’s first modern multipurpose examination hall.
According to officials, this project, which had remained stalled for 34 years, was completed in a record 16 months. Contrary to initial estimates, the construction cost was kept economical at just PKR 21 crore.
Commissioner Gujranwala Division and BISE Chairman Syed Naveed Haider Shirazi, while addressing a press conference, stated that the site for the project had been allocated in 1992, but no significant progress had been made for decades. The current administration adopted an effective strategy to complete this long-delayed project in a short time, marking a significant milestone.
The newly constructed hall, equipped with modern facilities, can accommodate over 2,000 students simultaneously, significantly reducing the need for separate examination centers in private educational institutions. Large LED screens have been installed to ensure transparency and efficiency during exams, incorporating the latest technology.
The Chairman added that the hall has been designed for multipurpose use, allowing not only board examinations but also tests from other educational institutions to be conducted under one roof. This development is expected to greatly enhance the examination infrastructure and overall educational experience in the region.
