Metro53 - GUJRAT (Web Desk): Former Punjab Minister for Education, Mian Imran Masood, has emphasized the critical importance of education, stating that while electricity and infrastructure are important, the real light of Pakistan lies in its schools. “For God’s sake, do not let it be extinguished,” he urged.
He criticized the Punjab government for not including education among its top priorities. According to Masood, during Shahbaz Sharif’s tenure, public sector schools were largely neglected, with the government focusing primarily on establishing elite “Danish Public Schools.”
He further stated that under the current leadership, led by Maryam Nawaz, public sector schools have fallen even further behind, and the situation of government schools across Punjab is now alarming.
Masood called for urgent reforms and attention to public education, warning that neglecting schools could undermine the future of Pakistan’s youth.
