Food Authority Fines Rs97,000 in Gujrat Crackdown

Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk) — The Punjab Food Authority has intensified its operations in Gujrat district to improve food quality standards and ensure the provision of safe and hygienic food to the public.

According to officials, a total of 81 inspections were carried out across various food points. During these checks, improvement notices were issued to 24 locations.

Additionally, fines were imposed on 6 different outlets over violations, with the total penalty amount reaching Rs97,000.

During the operations, 0.1 kilograms of prohibited and substandard food items were also discarded.

Food Authority officials stated that no compromise will be made on public health, and strict action against those involved in selling substandard food will continue without discrimination.
