Metro53 - GUJRAT (Web Desk) – A domestic worker involved in looting houses under the guise of employment has been arrested along with her husband.
According to details, on April 10, 2026, the Sadar Lalamusa Police received an application from a resident of Mohalla Ahmed Abad near Ganja Mor, identified as Iftikhar Ahmed, stating that 10 tolas of gold jewelry kept in a cupboard had been stolen from his house in the absence of family members.
Upon receiving the complaint, the police took immediate action and registered a case against the nominated suspects, including a woman.
The accused, Ayesha Noor wife of Ghulam Abbas, and her husband Ghulam Abbas son of Muhammad Bashir, residents of Chak Sikandar and currently living in Mohalla Rehmat Pura, were arrested and included in the investigation.
During interrogation, the accused woman revealed that she worked as a domestic maid at Iftikhar Ahmed’s house and, after seeing the gold in the cupboard, planned the theft with her husband. When they found an opportunity, both of them stole 10 tolas of gold jewelry.
The stolen items included four bangles, one pair of earrings, and one men’s ring.
Police recovered the stolen gold jewelry worth 5 million rupees from the suspects and returned it to the owners.
