Metro53 - Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader and former MNA Captain (R) Muhammad Safdar Awan, speaking in Farrukh Shahbaz Warraich's podcast, raised questions regarding the degree of a candidate in the context of the bar elections.
Captain (R) Safdar Awan stated that he has been working on this matter since 2021 and legal proceedings are being advanced on the basis of relevant documentation. According to Captain Safdar, the degree of Amjad Pathan Sulaimani has been challenged in court, and he has also filed an application for an early hearing in the constitutional court. His stance is that if a person does not fulfill the basic eligibility criteria as a lawyer, the legal status of them becoming a candidate for a key bar office must be clarified.
He stated that he wants to bring this matter before the court prior to the bar elections so that a decision regarding the candidate's eligibility can be reached. Captain Safdar made it clear that he possesses evidence regarding this matter and will present his stance in court with arguments.
