According to Indian media, the woman targeted her niece, other young girls in the family, and eventually her own son, whom she allegedly drowned in shallow water to avoid suspicion.
The case surfaced after a six-year-old girl in the village of Navlatha died under suspicious circumstances, initially believed to be an accidental drowning. However, inconsistencies prompted police to widen the investigation.
Police stated that in 2023, the suspect drowned her sister-in-law’s daughter in a water tub in Bohar village of Sonipat district. To deflect suspicion, she later killed her own son in a similar manner. She allegedly repeated the pattern again at her parental home, and the latest incident occurred during a wedding where her niece became the victim.
In every case, the children were found in extremely shallow water. In one instance, the tub used was barely one foot deep, making accident claims doubtful.
According to investigators, the woman admitted during interrogation that she eliminated children she believed looked more attractive than her. Police also revealed that the suspect would celebrate after each killing.
The latest case was resolved within 36 hours, with the accused confessing to murdering four children — three girls and her own son. Authorities say she made calculated attempts to portray each killing as an accident, underscoring both planning and extreme cruelty.
