Metro53 - Rawalpindi: A passenger van plunged into a river near Azad Pattan in Kahuta tehsil on Tuesday, resulting in multiple casualties, rescue officials said.
According to Rescue 1122, the van fell into the river at the Azad Pattan area, with initial reports suggesting that eight to 10 people were travelling in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Upon receiving information about the incident, six rescue vehicles and more than 20 rescue personnel rushed to the site and launched a search and rescue operation.
Rescue officials said four passengers managed to escape from the van on their own and were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, the bodies of three victims have been recovered from the river, while efforts to trace the remaining passengers are continuing.
