Speaking at the ceremony, President Trump said he remembered his mother frequently expressing admiration for Charles from a young age. “My mother used to say very clearly that Charles was very charming,” he remarked, adding humorously, “She had a crush on Charles — would you believe it?”
The US president further noted that his mother also held affection for Charles’s mother, Queen Elizabeth II. He said she would often comment on the late queen’s elegance whenever she appeared on television.
