Metro53 - KARACHI: Babar Azam said it felt “very satisfying to bounce back after setbacks” as he reflected on Peshawar Zalmi’s emphatic win over Islamabad United in the qualifier of the Pakistan Super League Season 11.

Speaking at the post-match press conference in Karachi, the Zalmi captain described the fixture as “very important” and said the team thoroughly enjoyed playing in front of a lively crowd. He added that the Karachi ground holds special memories for him.

Babar, who led from the front with a match-winning 103-run knock, stressed that the team’s progress to the final was a collective achievement. “Reaching this stage is not because of me alone; it is the result of a complete team effort,” he said.

He also highlighted his on-field communication with Kusal Mendis, noting that he continues to exchange batting tips with the Sri Lankan during partnerships.

Zalmi defeated Islamabad United by 70 runs to qualify for the final, with Babar’s century earning him the player of the match award.
