Metro53 - GUJRAT: Abdul Ghani Sandhu, a central leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), on Saturday said that Operation Bunyan Marsoos had enhanced Pakistan’s standing internationally and boosted confidence among overseas Pakistanis.
In a statement issued in Gujrat, he said overseas Pakistanis could now “walk with their heads held high” after what he described as the success of the operation.
Mr Sandhu said Pakistan had shown what he called a measured response during the conflict, adding that only military installations had been targeted.
He also said lasting stability in the region remained linked to the unresolved issue of Jammu and Kashmir and the right to self-determination of its people.
Referring to Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, he said Pakistan had reiterated its commitment to dialogue, diplomacy and peaceful coexistence in South Asia, while maintaining resolve to safeguard national sovereignty and regional security.
Mr Sandhu further said the unity shown by the nation and the armed forces had elevated Pakistan’s image abroad, expressing hope that the country’s passport ranking would improve in the years ahead.
