Metro53 - GUJRAT: A delegation of the local business community met with Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce and General Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League (Punjab), to discuss matters concerning traders and market development.
The delegation included former Muslim Bazaar President Sheikh Waqar Waheed, Sheikh Muhammad Umar, and other prominent traders from Gujrat.
During the meeting, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain praised the performance of Muslim Bazaar President Nadeem Butt and his cabinet, stating that they had played an important role in improving the market and addressing traders’ concerns. He noted that the traders of Muslim Bazaar had consistently supported the Pakistan Muslim League and continued to place their trust in the party.
The provincial minister urged traders to pay special attention to cleanliness in marketplaces. He advised shopkeepers to dispose of waste responsibly by placing it in shopping bags and designated garbage bins rather than throwing it outside their shops. He emphasized that cleanliness is an essential value and a hallmark of a civilized society.
Chaudhry Shafay Hussain reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the business community, saying that the traders of Gujrat were like brothers and that their issues would continue to receive attention and support.
Highlighting the Punjab government’s Easy Business Loan Scheme, he said that nearly 70 percent of traders across the province had benefited from the initiative. He further announced that the second phase of the scheme would be launched after the budget, enabling traders to apply online through the website of Bank of Punjab and obtain interest-free loans.
Speaking on the occasion, former Muslim Bazaar President Sheikh Waqar Waheed thanked Chaudhry Shafay Hussain for facilitating the installation of tough tiles in Muslim Bazaar and resolving long-standing electricity wiring issues. He said the trader community remained grateful for these efforts and would continue to support the Pakistan Muslim League and Chaudhry Shafay Hussain in the future.
