Metro53 - JHELUM: A review meeting on Own Source Revenue (OSR) was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mir Raza Ozgen to assess revenue collection, departmental performance and progress towards fiscal targets.
The meeting was attended by officials from various government departments, who presented detailed briefings on the current status of revenue collection, collection rates and measures being undertaken to enhance receipts under the OSR framework.
During the session, departmental representatives informed the deputy commissioner about progress made in achieving assigned targets and outlined steps being taken to improve revenue generation.
Mr Ozgen directed all departments to further strengthen and streamline revenue collection mechanisms and accelerate practical measures aimed at achieving government-prescribed revenue targets. He noted that timely revenue collection not only increases public resources but also facilitates the completion of development and welfare projects.
The deputy commissioner also instructed officials to ensure that all revenue-related records remain fully updated and that transparency, merit and accountability are maintained throughout the collection process to guarantee the efficient utilization of public resources.
Emphasising the importance of coordination and monitoring, he urged departments to adopt a unified strategy to achieve all OSR targets within the stipulated timeframe. He warned that negligence or delays in meeting targets would not be tolerated and said departmental performance would continue to be closely monitored.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to further improve the revenue collection system in the district and ensure the achievement of fiscal targets through transparent and effective administrative measures in the public interest.
