Metro53 - LAHORE: Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister on Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives, Ali Dar, has shared details of his educational background, business journey, and marriage to Asma Nawaz during a podcast interview with senior anchorperson Farukh Shahbaz Warraich.
Speaking during the interview, Ali Dar said he completed his A-Levels from Aitchison College before earning a degree in Software Engineering from University of Manchester. After completing his studies in Britain, he moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2003, where he entered the real estate sector during a period of rapid economic development.
Discussing his personal life, Ali Dar revealed that his marriage to Asma Nawaz, the younger daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, was arranged in 2004. He clarified that the marriage was “not a love marriage at all” but was arranged with the mutual consent of both families, particularly his father, Ishaq Dar, Nawaz Sharif, and other family members.
“I had not even met my future wife before our marriage,” Ali Dar said, adding that he was 21 years old at the time of the wedding.
He praised Asma Nawaz as a courageous and determined woman, saying she inherited those qualities from her family. He noted that she shares many characteristics with her elder sister, Maryam Nawaz, particularly her determination to achieve whatever she sets out to do.
Ali Dar further said that after marriage, Asma developed a close bond with his parents and became an excellent cook. He added that Nawaz Sharif particularly enjoys meals prepared by his daughter.
The adviser also spoke about his professional and academic journey, highlighting his experience in technology and business before assuming his current role in the Punjab government.
