Metro53 - GUJRAT: A meeting of the Tehsil Peace Committee was held in Gujrat to discuss arrangements for maintaining law and order and promoting religious harmony during Muharram, officials said on Monday.
The meeting was chaired by Assistant Commissioner Gujrat Abdul Qadeer Zarkoon and attended by religious scholars from various schools of thought, prayer leaders, members of the peace committee, and representatives of relevant government departments.
Participants held detailed discussions on security arrangements, administrative measures, and efforts aimed at ensuring a peaceful atmosphere during Muharram.
Speakers stressed the importance of fostering inter-sect harmony, mutual respect, and brotherhood during the holy month, describing religious unity as essential for maintaining peace and stability in society.
