Metro53 - GUJRAT: Punjab Health Secretary Azmat Mahmood visited Aziz Bhatti Teaching Hospital in Gujrat on Friday to review healthcare facilities and assess the quality of medical services being provided to patients.
Accompanied by Director Monitoring Atiqur Rehman, the health secretary toured several departments of the hospital, including the emergency ward, where he inspected facilities and met patients to inquire about their treatment, the availability of medicines and the overall standard of care.
During the visit, the hospital's Medical Superintendent briefed the delegation on the institution's healthcare services, administrative affairs and ongoing measures aimed at improving patient care.
Mr Mahmood said the Punjab government was committed to ensuring the provision of quality, timely and accessible healthcare services at public hospitals across the province. He stressed that every effort was being made to improve treatment facilities and minimise difficulties faced by patients.
He also announced that the Punjab government had decided to procure a new MRI machine for Aziz Bhatti Teaching Hospital, saying the addition would significantly strengthen diagnostic services and enable patients to access advanced medical facilities locally.
