Metro53 - GUJRAT: Punjab Health Secretary Azmat Mahmood visited Aziz Bhatti Teaching Hospital in Gujrat on Friday to review healthcare services and inspect facilities being provided to patients, as part of the provincial government's efforts to strengthen public health institutions.
Accompanied by Director Monitoring Atiqur Rehman, the health secretary toured various departments of the hospital, including the emergency ward. During the visit, he met patients and sought feedback on their treatment, the availability of medicines and the quality of healthcare services.
The hospital's Medical Superintendent briefed the visiting officials on the hospital's administrative affairs, available medical facilities and ongoing initiatives aimed at improving patient care.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mahmood said the Punjab government remained committed to ensuring the provision of quality, timely and efficient healthcare services at public hospitals across the province. He said measures were being taken to ensure that patients received treatment without unnecessary inconvenience and that healthcare standards continued to improve.
The health secretary also announced that the Punjab government had approved the procurement of a new MRI machine for Aziz Bhatti Teaching Hospital. He said the new equipment would significantly enhance diagnostic capabilities and enable patients in the region to access advanced medical imaging services closer to home.
