Metro53 - LAHORE: Podcaster and journalist Rehan Tariq was taken into custody by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) after arriving at Lahore's Allama Iqbal International Airport from London in the early hours of Wednesday, according to sources.
Sources close to the matter said Rehan Tariq landed shortly after 1am and was stopped during immigration checks. Officials from the NCCIA later arrived at the airport and escorted him into custody.
According to officials, a case has already been registered against the podcaster with the NCCIA in Lahore. During the screening process, authorities found that his name was also included in the PNIL (Provisional National Identification List), leading to his arrest.
Officials have not yet released further details regarding the nature of the case or the charges against Rehan Tariq. An official statement from the NCCIA is still awaited.
