Metro53 - LAHORE: Senior journalist Mohsin Baig has criticised Senator Faisal Vawda, saying he was "not suitable" for public office, while also defending Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and urging restraint over recent political developments.

Speaking on the news programme "Jawab Do with Farrukh Warraich," Mr Baig said it was inappropriate to level allegations over the recent Lahore incident without first completing a proper investigation.

He stressed that accusations should be based on evidence rather than speculation, adding that due process must be allowed to take its course before assigning responsibility.

Commenting on the country's political situation, Mr Baig said the current system should not be destabilised, warning that if it were disrupted, restoring it could prove difficult.

He also dismissed reports of an imminent change in government, describing such claims as "mere speculation."

Referring to Senator Faisal Vawda, Mr Baig said influential state institutions would not prefer spokespersons whose statements could prove counterproductive. He added that, in his view, Mr Vawda was not fit for such a role.
