Metro53 - Mirza Amir Baig — Quack doctors operating openly in streets and neighborhoods across the city have put the lives of unsuspecting citizens at risk. Despite having complete lists of such practitioners, the DHO Gujrat along with district and tehsil sanitary inspectors have yet to take effective action.
According to sources, some employees of the health department themselves are allegedly running clinics as quacks in various areas of the city, reportedly under the protection of senior officials. These individuals have been deceiving the public for years and putting their health and lives in danger.
Registered medical associations, political, and social figures have demanded that the Secretary Health Punjab and Director Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) take immediate and practical measures to eliminate quackery and initiate inquiries against negligent officers of the Gujrat health department.
Local residents stated that every time only “paperwork” is done against quackery, followed by reports of everything being fine, while the ground reality remains the opposite.
