Metro53 - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan may be transferred from Adiala Jail to another location at any time, according to well-placed sources. The move is expected following the verdict in the Toshakhana II case.
Sources revealed that a special prison near Qasim Market in Rawalpindi has been fully prepared, where Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, are likely to be shifted.
All legal and administrative arrangements for the facility have been completed, with a 40-member staff already deployed since July 31. A new monitoring and security system has also been installed to oversee the prison.
The responsibility for supervision has been assigned to the DSP Prisons, while staff from jails in Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum have been relocated to Rawalpindi. A formal notification of these postings was issued by DIG Prisons Rawalpindi Region, Rana Rauf.
According to sources, the special jail will remain under 24-hour surveillance by security personnel, and a comprehensive security plan has been put in place.
