Metro53 - Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) is facing increased financial difficulties, prompting the party leadership to seek monetary contributions from its elected parliamentarians to meet day-to-day expenses and continue organisational activities.

PTI Additional Secretary General Firdous Shamim Naqvi has sent a written letter to members of the National Assembly, Senate and provincial assemblies, asking them to contribute 10 per cent of their monthly salaries to the party fund.

According to the letter, each MNA, senator and MPA has been directed to deposit a minimum of Rs50,000 per month into the party fund. The leadership stated that the measure was essential to sustain organisational activities, public outreach campaigns and other administrative requirements.

The letter also urged members to provide financial support immediately in view of the prevailing circumstances. Parliamentarians have been asked to transfer the required amount to the party within 72 hours on an emergency basis.

Sources said the PTI has been experiencing a shortage of financial resources in recent months, creating difficulties in managing party offices, political activities and routine expenditures. Against this backdrop, the party leadership has decided to raise funds internally.

Political analysts say the move reflects financial pressure within the party, though PTI leaders have described it as a necessary step to ensure organisational stability and continue their political struggle.
