According to details, the woman had booked a Waymo robotaxi to travel to the University of California, but she went into labor while en route. Before reaching her destination, she delivered the baby inside the vehicle.
Waymo’s support team detected an unusual situation inside the car and immediately contacted the passenger while alerting 911 emergency services. During this time, the autonomous vehicle continued operating normally and safely transported both the mother and newborn to the hospital.
