Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk): District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat, Rana Umar Farooq, visited various churches across the district on the occasion of Christmas and reviewed the security arrangements in detail. During the visit, he met with church managements and discussed administrative matters related to Christmas celebrations.
The DPO instructed police officers and personnel present on duty to remain highly vigilant and alert at all times. He emphasized that any suspicious activity should be responded to immediately and that no negligence in security would be tolerated. Directions were also issued to make police patrolling in and around churches more effective.
Rana Umar Farooq further directed officers to keep a strict watch on the movement of unauthorized individuals around churches and to ensure effective checking at entry and exit points. He stated that due to the expected rush on Christmas, security arrangements have been further strengthened to prevent any untoward incident.
The DPO reaffirmed his commitment that the protection of the Christian community and their places of worship is a top priority of Gujrat Police. He said safeguarding the lives, property, and religious freedom of minorities is a fundamental responsibility of the police, which will be fulfilled in the best possible manner.
Church managements expressed satisfaction with the security arrangements and appreciated the cooperation of Gujrat Police. They stated that the police presence has made the Christian community feel safe. To maintain law and order during Christmas, additional police personnel have been deployed across the district.
