Metro53 - Gujranwala (Web Desk): A tragic accident occurred in Gujranwala when a bus driver of the University of Gujrat (UoG) died after suffering a heart attack while driving. Following the sudden deterioration of the driver’s health, the bus went out of control and collided with another bus traveling ahead, resulting in multiple passengers being injured.

According to rescue sources, the incident took place near Saroki, where the driver suddenly suffered a heart attack and lost consciousness. Due to the driver’s condition, the bus could not be controlled and rammed into a nearby bus. The impact of the collision caused damage to both buses and spread panic among the passengers on board.

Rescue officials reported that 11 people were injured in the accident, including female students and staff members of the University of Gujrat. Rescue teams promptly shifted all the injured to nearby hospitals, where they are receiving medical treatment. The condition of some of the injured is reported to be stable.

According to rescue authorities, both buses belonged to the University of Gujrat and were traveling from Gujrat to Alipur Chatha. After the accident, rescue teams, police, and university administration officials reached the scene, completed relief operations, and restored traffic flow.

Following the incident, the university administration expressed deep sorrow over the death of the driver and conveyed condolences. The incident has once again highlighted the importance of drivers’ health and the need for medical check-ups before travel.
